Privacy Policy
Last updated 2 September 2026
The short version. Kettlebell Lab does not collect your personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking. The app has no servers of its own — your workouts stay on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account, which we cannot access.
Who we are
Kettlebell Lab is developed and operated by Anatomical Consulting LLC ("we", "us"). You can reach us at support@kettlebelllab.app.
This policy explains what happens to information when you use the Kettlebell Lab iPhone app and its Apple Watch companion.
What we collect
Nothing. We operate no servers, and the app makes no network requests to any system we control. We do not receive your workouts, your health data, your device identifiers, your location, or your usage patterns.
The app contains no analytics software, no advertising software, and no third-party tracking components of any kind.
What the app stores, and where
The app records the information you enter and generate as you use it:
- Programs, workout days, exercises, sets, weights, and rest periods you create
- Completed workout sessions, including duration and recorded heart rate
- Your kettlebell inventory and equipment settings
- App preferences such as units, sound, and appearance
This is stored on your device. If you have iCloud enabled, it also syncs to your own iCloud account so it is available across your devices, using Apple's CloudKit service. That copy lives in your Apple Account under Apple's control and privacy terms. We have no access to it and no ability to read it.
Health data
With your explicit permission, the app uses Apple's HealthKit framework to:
- Read heart rate during a workout, so it can show your intensity live and record it with the session.
- Write completed workouts to the Health app, so your training appears alongside your other activity.
Health data is handled entirely on your device and within Apple's Health and iCloud systems. It is never transmitted to us, because there is nowhere for it to be transmitted to.
We do not and will not sell your health data, share it with third parties, use it for advertising or marketing, or use it for any purpose other than showing you your workout and recording your session history.
You can grant or revoke health permissions at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Kettlebell Lab. Revoking access stops heart rate tracking; the rest of the app continues to work.
Purchases
Premium is available as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. All of them are sold and processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment happens entirely within Apple's systems — we never see or handle your payment details, card numbers, or billing address.
The app asks Apple whether the current Apple Account holds an active subscription or a completed Lifetime purchase, and stores that yes-or-no answer on the device to decide which features to unlock. Apple provides us with aggregated, anonymised sales reporting that does not identify individual customers.
Services the app relies on
The app uses no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only external services involved are Apple's, and all of them are governed by Apple's Privacy Policy:
- iCloud (CloudKit) — syncing your programmes and history between your own devices
- HealthKit — reading heart rate and writing completed workouts
- StoreKit — processing purchases and confirming entitlement
Settings stored on your device
Preferences such as units, sound, voice announcements, appearance, default rest periods, and workout reminder days and times are stored locally on your device. None of it is transmitted anywhere.
Notifications
If you enable workout reminders, they are scheduled locally on your device. No reminder data leaves the device, and we send no push notifications.
Apple Watch
The watch app exchanges workout state and heart rate with your iPhone directly over Apple's device-to-device connection. This communication does not pass through any server of ours.
Links to other services
Some exercises link to demonstration or explanation videos hosted on external services. Opening one leaves the app, and whatever you do there is governed by that service's own privacy policy, not this one. We receive no information about whether you followed a link or what you watched.
Children
Kettlebell Lab is a general-audience fitness app and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children — and, as described above, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Your choices and rights
Because we hold no data about you, there is nothing for us to look up, export, correct, or delete on your behalf. You remain in full control of your information:
- Delete data on a device by deleting the app from it.
- Delete the synced copy in Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage › Kettlebell Lab.
- Revoke health access in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.
- Stop iCloud sync by turning iCloud off for the app.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA to access, correct, or delete personal information a company holds about you. We hold none, so those requests have nothing to act on — but if you have a question about this, write to us and we will answer.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever begins collecting information — it does not today, and there are no plans for it to — this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the date at the top will change with it.
