Getting started

What equipment do I need?

One kettlebell is enough to start. During setup you tell the app which bells you own — fixed weights or an adjustable — and it uses that inventory when you build workouts, so it never asks you to load a weight you don't have.

Do I need a subscription to use the app?

No. Quick Workout — standard sets, EMOM, and circuits — plus workout templates, the exercise library, Apple Watch heart rate, and warm-up and cool-down timers are all free, with no trial and no account.

Premium adds the multi-week program builder, multiple saved programs, week patterns, progression modes, ladder workouts, program templates, and the advanced stats views.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no sign-up and no login. Your data lives on your device and syncs through your own iCloud account.

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Workouts run entirely offline. A connection is only needed to sync between your devices through iCloud, and to open exercise demonstration videos, which are hosted externally.

Apple Watch and heart rate

What does the Apple Watch app do?

It tracks your heart rate through the session and streams it to your iPhone, and it lets you complete a set, skip rest, pause, or end the workout from your wrist.

My heart rate isn't showing up

Work through these in order:

  1. Confirm the Kettlebell Lab watch app is actually installed on your Apple Watch — open the Watch app on your iPhone and look under Installed on Apple Watch.
  2. Grant heart rate access. On iPhone, go to Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices › Kettlebell Lab and confirm Heart Rate is enabled.
  3. Make sure the watch is snug on your wrist. A loose band is the most common cause of missing readings.
  4. Start the workout on the iPhone first, then check the watch.
  5. If it still doesn't appear, restart both devices — this clears most connection problems.
The watch and phone aren't staying in sync

Both devices need to be within Bluetooth range with Bluetooth switched on, and the watch must be unlocked and on your wrist. If they drift apart mid-workout the phone keeps recording; the watch reconnects on its own when it comes back in range.

Are my workouts saved to Apple Health?

Yes, if you grant permission. Completed workouts are written to the Health app, and heart rate is read from it during a session. You can change this at any time in Settings › Health › Data Access & Devices.

Subscriptions and billing

How much does Premium cost?

$4.99 per month, or $39.99 per year. Both include a 7-day free trial.

How do I cancel?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so cancellation happens in your Apple Account rather than in the app:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
  2. Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
  3. Tap Kettlebell Lab, then Cancel Subscription.

Cancel at least 24 hours before your trial or billing period ends to avoid the next charge. You keep Premium access until the period you've paid for runs out.

I paid but Premium isn't unlocked

Open Settings inside Kettlebell Lab and tap Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account that made the original purchase. If it still doesn't unlock, email us and include the date of purchase.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple, not by us. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com using the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Your data

Where is my data stored?

On your device, and in your own iCloud account if you have iCloud enabled. It syncs between your devices through Apple's servers under your Apple Account. We operate no servers and cannot see your workouts. See the Privacy Policy for detail.

How do I delete everything?

Deleting the app removes its data from that device. To remove the synced copy as well, go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage, select Kettlebell Lab, and delete its data.

Why did my programs disappear on a new device?

Sync requires iCloud Drive to be on and both devices signed in to the same Apple Account. Check Settings › your name › iCloud, then give it a few minutes on a good connection.
